Stefan Becker is an Castilian and English speaking chiropractor with 30 years of experience that works in Sarrià, Barcelona. He specialises in gentle techniques and works with a range of problems, including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches, and issues related to general health & well-being. Stefan opened his office—Sarrià Quiropràctica—in April 2016.
Stefan was born in England, but was raised in Melbourne, Australia, and studied to be a chiropractor in RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology-the biggest university in Australia), for 5 years. After 4-5 years practicing in England, and 18 years working in Brisbane, he and his wife decided it was time for a change. A new challenge! They worked hard on their Castilian, packed up everything and moved to Barcelona to live in 2015.
“People here always ask me why we moved to Barcelona when we could live in Australia”, Stefan says. “But it was an easy decision. We needed a change, and we love to travel. Barcelona has so much culture, the food and weather is great, the people are friendly and relaxed, and there are so many countries nearby to visit.”
“I was a little surprised that people knew so little about chiropractors in Catalunya. So many people visit a chiropractor regularly in Australia. It’s the biggest natural health profession in the world. But people here are learning about the importance of looking after their spinal health. There’s even the very highly regarded Barcelona Chiropractic College here now, in Sarrià. The Catalans are lucky to have a world-class chiropractic college right in their back yard. So, the future of chiropractic here is looking good.”
Sarrià Quiropràctica is in the centre of Sarrià, close to the ferrocarril (FGC) train station, near Sant Gervasi, Les Corts, La Bolanova, Galvany, Sants, Vila de Gràcia and Pedralbes in Barcelona.
